The 2024-2026 Rare Diseases International-Lancet Commission on Rare Diseases
The Rare Diseases International (RDI)-Lancet Commission on Rare Diseases is a new initiative dedicated to generating evidence- and equity-informed recommendations that are implementable and impactful across all countries to dramatically improve the lives of PLWRD. The RDI-LCRD, initiated and hosted by RDI, and chaired by Dr. Roberto Giugliani (Brazil) and Dr. Kym Boycott (Canada), brings together 27 Commissioners who represent countries from around the world (all habited continents, global north and south, low- to high-income) and bring diverse perspectives (gender, lived experience) and expertise (ethics, clinical care, research, biostatistics, economics, regulatory, technology, innovation) from a variety of healthcare systems.
